There has been a massive increase in the number of meerkats illegally traded every year. This is a growing concern that will eventually result in the extinction of these adorable creatures.
Although these animals are very sociable, they do not make suitable exotic pets. Meerkats don’t survive in a human environment, suffer tremendously when are forced to adapt to unfamiliar and unnatural habitats.
Misinformed pet owners are often unaware of how dangerous these cute little mammals can be when they reach puberty, which often results in them being neglected, abused or given away.
Our organisation is focused on the rehabilitation of our fury friends. We place them in a natural environment, where they are able to form colonies and we teach them to follow their natural instincts in order to release them back into the wild when they are ready. We currently have 141 meerkats in our care. Financially it's a daily struggle but we simply cannot turn away an animal in need.
The process of extracting Meerkats from inappropriate environments and rehabilitating them is an expensive and lengthy process, for which we ask your help.

It is up to us to preserve our natural environment and protect all the species that call it home.
